Sealing is the final step in the concrete process. However, it is the most misunderstood and neglected procedure according to the American Concrete Institute’s Guide to Curing Concrete reported by ACI Committee 308. This document also outlines methods, procedures, and advantages of curing and sealing. One of the main reasons to seal freshly placed concrete is to prevent the loss of moisture which is necessary for maximum strength development.
